Class Descriptions

MT Online

Music Together® Online is a package of online music experiences and resources that create a comprehensive music learning program with the same high quality you're used to with the Music Together program.

  • Instead of going to your class once a week, your class will come to you, via computer, tablet or phone. Classes are divided into three- 15-minute pre-recorded segments each week - part 1, part 2- and part 3.  So, there's still 45 minutes of weekly music time. These pre-recorded videos led by Jody Harcourt and Jenny Madrigal will feature the new MARACAS collectionWatch them as many times as you like, while you and your family make music with us. Both Jody and Jenny will each be posting their classes each week. You will have access to them all!

The videos will be available at the Music Together of Tracy website where you will receive access to the videos in the family portal once you are registered and then by logging into your account.

  • Bonus mini videos including musical crafts, lullabies and parent education moments.

  • Downloadable family resources including coloring pages, musical games and more!

Your Spring 2020 digital class materials include:

  • 25 “Maracas Songs” to download at the app "Hello Everybody"

  • A digital version of the Spring 2020 Maracas songbook

  • NOTE: We will arrange a hard copy materials pick-up time and place at the beginning of the session. If you cannot make it to the pick-up, you are welcome to pick up hard copy materials at no extra charge at your convience.

We know many of you may be watching these videos with many different members of the family, but we are just charging one family fee which is the same as our usual "one child" fee. $235 for the (10-week) spring session. There will be no sibling fees!

Mixed Age 0-5

This is the essential Music Together class, one that a child can attend from birth through age five through all nine song collections. This basic class follows the recommendations of child development researchers—grouping children of a variety of ages because this fosters natural, family-style learning. Younger children enjoy watching and imitating older ones; older children learn by leading younger ones; and adults are happy because the children in the family can go to class together. Each child participates at his or her own level in singing, moving, chanting, listening, watching, or exploring musical instruments. Any caregivers—parents, grandparents, nanny—can bring the children. The whole family is welcome for this important family music experience.

Mixed Age 0-5 Demo Class

Rhythm KIDS 4-8

Rhythm Kids is an exciting music, movement, and drumming class for children in Kindergarten through second grade (ages 4 through 8). Rhythm KIDS classes lay the foundation for Basic Music Literacy, complementing in-school music instruction or instrument lessons and leading to a lifetime of joyful music-making. The curriculum includes solos and ensembles, folk dances, harmony singing, vocal development, and drumming. In a safe and fun environment, your child can experiment with new activities like game songs, story songs, conducting, improvisation, and composition.

Learn multicultural drumming patterns; develop new repertoire on various percussion instruments; explore movement and dance while singing songs; play games based on music and drumming; have fun with a host of rhythm activities. This is a drop off program, unless the parent/caregiver wants or needs to attend.

As part of the Rhythm Kids experience, children and their grownups can enjoy drumming play and practice sessions at home with the help of online play-along videos featuring Rhythm Kids creator Tom Foote.

Class Tuition includes: 10 weekly, 45-minute classes; Animal Collection Songbook and professionally recorded CD each semester; Access to online video tutorials and play-along.

Course Materials: Students purchase their own hand drum (djembe) for use at home and in class. Music Together of Tracy will provide discounted sources for a beautiful instrument that will provide many years of rhythm fun for your child.
